About Our Founder

NW Recovery was founded by 26-year U.S. Navy SEAL veteran William Branum, with a deep dedication to continuing to serve others.

 

Having enjoyed a childhood spent in the outdoors of Mississippi, from an early age, William knew he wanted to be part of a team that would push him beyond whatever limits he thought he had.  During high school, he charged forward and became an Eagle Scout. With a thirst for adventure and a desire to live an extraordinary life in the pursuit of excellence and in the service of others, William joined the Navy immediately after graduating high school.   In 1995 he graduated from SEAL Training (BUD/S Class 208) and was initially stationed in Virginia Beach, VA, then San Diego, CA, and finally Oahu, HI,  Amongst William’s deployments around the globe to keep the world safe from nefarious actors, he served on multiple SEAL Teams, and taught at SEAL Sniper School to impart his insights to the next generation of warriors.

 

However, as with too many veterans, across his years of service, William suffered from numerous physical injuries and psychological symptoms that negatively impacted his well-being and quality of life.  Migraines, severe anxiety, chronic pain, difficulty focusing, difficulty sleeping/falling asleep, and depression are some of the symptoms with which he would struggle on a daily basis.  Following a well-worn path, he tried many prescription medications to alleviate his symptoms and eventually started to “self-medicate” with alcohol to help with pain and sleep issues.

 

During his last few years of military service, William started hearing more about the promising therapeutic benefits of cannabinoids like CBD.  Ultimately, he chose to wait until his retirement from the military before exploring this new world of plant-based benefits to help aid in his physical and psychological recovery.  Determined to maintain his Top Secret Security clearance after leaving the military, he sought THC-free options of CBD.

 

Since his discovery of the benefits of CBD, William has reduced anxiety, improved sleep, less joint pain, and an overall improved quality of life.  Today, William is focused on sharing the recovery benefits he has experienced through premium quality (THC Free) CBD in hopes that other Veterans and First Responders can also experience their own recovery.

NW Recovery was named in Honor of the elite Naked Warriors, the pioneers and predecessors of the U.S. Navy SEALs.  Their name heralds from the barest shorts and dive masks they wore, and the modest equipment they utilized, on underwater missions during World War II as they demonstrated the daring, courage, and skills of the fiercest warriors, to clear beaches to enable U.S. and Allied Forces to land, amongst their many feats of human endurance.

It demands that you  TAKE OFF YOUR EGO and stop wearing it like a forcefield repelling what other people think.
